"Kelly Clarkson" (born April 24, 1982) was the winner of Fox Broadcasting's American Idol singing competition in the summer of 2002, chosen from among a total of 10,000 contestants and surviving several rounds of elimination by professional judges as well as viewers. For winning the contest, the 20 year old Texan was awarded a recording contract with RCA, a management deal with 19 Management, and an upcoming American Idol tour. Her debut single, For Your Love, is due to be released November 17, 2002.
