"Serena Williams" (born September 26, 1981) is a two time winner of the U.S. Open tennis championship. She first won the title in 1999, and lost the title to her older sister Venus Williams in the 2000 and 2001 finals, winning it back from her sister in the 2002 finals. Both sisters turned professional at the age of 14, with Serena making her professional debut in October of 1995 at the Bell Challenge in Vanier, Quebec, Canada. She was quickly eliminated from that competition, but by 1999 she was ranked 6th in the world.
