A Guide to Search Results for "Jobs"

help - feedback - sponsor this guide

People who use the search term "jobs" are usually looking for temporary or career employment opportunities, or perhaps job training. However, there is a certain amount of ambiguity in the search term jobs because of references to sexual acts that include the word job or jobs, and the use of the word job in the title of the popular film The Italian Job. Moreover, the singular form of the word jobs is spelled the same as the name Job (rhymes with "robe"), the character from the Old Testament Book of Job in the Bible. Even when someone using the search term jobs is actually trying to find work, many of the search results that are returned for a general search query like jobs are for specific job openings listed on popular Web sites as opposed to Web sites that provide a wide variety of job listings or serve the role of a job finder. This state of affairs is emblematic of the limitations that are currently inherent in all search engine algorithms.
