"Daylight Savings Time" is a commonly used alternate form of "Daylight Saving Time," the seasonally adjusted local time observed in many temperate climates during the spring and summer months, also known as "British Summer Time" in the United Kingdom. The observation of Daylight Saving Time is not universal, nor is there a standardized time adjustment which is observed. The most common time adjustment is one hour forward, which begins at 2:00 a.m. on a Sunday in Spring and ends at 2:00am on a Sunday in Autumn, when clocks are set back to standard local time; these seasonal changes occur exactly six months apart in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
